Dovetailed Document Boxes

I wanted to try a different joinery method for this batch of document boxes, so instead of mitred construction like with the previous document boxes I’ve made, I decided to use dovetails instead.

These document boxes are designed for A4 or US Letter sized documents.

They measure L360mm x W250mm x H83mm and the interior dimensions are L326mm x W215mm x H48mm.

The first box in these pictures is made from Spotted Gum with Rock Maple lining on the inside, the second box is Tasmanian Blackwood also with a Rock Maple lining on the inside, and the third box is Blackbutt with Jarrah lining inside.

All three boxes have a black velvet base and velvet on the underside of the lid.
